Go Therefore

We are called to be more than comfortable Christians who simply attend church and receive blessings. The Great Commission from Matthew 28:18-20 isn't a suggestion—it's Jesus' final command before ascending to heaven, and it carries the weight of His complete authority. These were His last words on earth, and when someone speaks their final words, we lean in and listen carefully. Jesus commanded us to go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing and teaching them everything He taught. This isn't just a job for the extroverts or the biblically educated; it's a directive for every believer. We often make our faith about what we can get from God, treating Him like a genie in a lamp, but the truth is we've already received enough. We've been blessed beyond measure, and now we're called to share that blessing with others. The mission isn't about our comfort—comfort and commission cannot coexist. God has strategically placed each of us in specific spaces—our jobs, neighborhoods, gyms, and families—as mission fields. We don't need to know every scripture or have perfect theology; we simply need to testify about what God has done for us. The Holy Spirit, which the disciples didn't even have when Jesus gave this command, now lives within us, empowering us to be witnesses. Our first step is simple: invite three people to church this week, and ask God daily what He wants from us. When we submit to His authority and obey His command to go, He provides the power to accomplish the mission.
