Who told you that?

This powerful message challenges us to examine whose voice we're truly following in our daily lives. Drawing from Genesis 3:1-13, we explore the devastating moment when humanity first chose to question God's word and listen to the serpent's deception instead. The central theme revolves around understanding that every battle for our destiny begins with deciding whose voice will have authority in our lives. We're reminded that Jesus didn't primarily preach about the cross or salvation to the masses—He preached the kingdom of God over 100 times in the gospels, yet mentioned religion zero times. This reveals something profound: we've often made Christianity about rules and rituals rather than about living under God's government and advancing His kingdom here on earth. The progression of sin is laid bare—doubt leads to deception, which leads to disobedience, which ultimately leads to death. But here's the hope: God still asks us the same questions He asked Adam and Eve: 'Where are you?' and 'Who told you that?' These aren't questions of condemnation but of restoration. When we've believed lies about our identity, our worth, or our purpose, God invites us back to His truth. The enemy's strategy hasn't changed—he still causes us to question whether God really said what He said, whether we can really trust Him to provide. But when we align ourselves with God's voice through His Word and the Holy Spirit, we reclaim the dominion and authority we were created to walk in.
